What you will do

Perform technical safety reviews of systems, processes, equipment, and operations
Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments using structured methodologies
Evaluate safety impacts of system changes, modifications, and field conditions
Develop and maintain hazard logs, risk matrices, and mitigation strategies
Provide technical advisory support on safety risks, system performance, and compliance
Prepare safety reports, hazard analyses, and technical evaluations
Analyze safety data and trends to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities
Support audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance documentation
Participate in field reviews, site visits, and operational observations
Coordinate with safety, engineering, operations, and maintenance teams

What you bring

5 plus years of experience in safety analysis, risk assessment, or technical safety roles
Experience in transit, transportation, infrastructure, or regulated environments preferred
Experience conducting hazard analyses or safety assessments
Experience preparing technical reports and documentation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
Working knowledge of safety management systems and risk mitigation practices
Familiarity with OSHA, FTA, or similar regulatory frameworks

Nice to have

Experience with system safety methods such as hazard analysis or FMEA
Experience supporting rail, bus, or multimodal transit systems
Certifications such as ASP, CSP, SMS, or engineering licensure
Experience with safety-critical systems or infrastructure
Experience building dashboards or data-driven reporting tools

Compensation

$40.87 – $55.29 Hourly, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications
